Large-scale Russian Strikes Eliminate Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to drinking water, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has increased attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A series of attacks struck electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the city endured intense attacks overnight. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were injured.

The attacks succeed periods of air raids in the region, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
